Background

Eleven02 is a specialist agency, dealing with the design, planning, implementation and management of exhibition stands. Their client, the Department for Education & Skills were to attend an education technology show, BETT 2003. Eleven02 were briefed to supply them with an exhibition stand, demonstrating that DfES are embracing technical developments within teaching at all ages.

Objectives

Eleven02 commissioned Revelation Event Management for their expertise in the technical design and management of exhibition stands. In addition Revelation has a strong background in the use of technology at exhibitions. As such Revelation were appointed as Technical Design and Management of the DfES exhibition stand.

Solution

Revelation Event Management worked in close partnership with Eleven02. Eleven02 built the physical stand for the exhibition and Revelation designed, equipped and produced the stand.

The stand was located centrally within the BETT exhibition hall and comprised a general area and additional one to one areas. The stand also featured a number of plasma screens and sound.

Communication links for picture and sound were made from a seminar room on the show floor to the stand. This meant that the activities of the seminar room could be broadcast on the main stand. The same principal applied to a seminar room almost 400 metres away on the other side of the hall. To create this ‘link’ cutting edge technology was used to ensure that a live link was established.

Provision was also made on the stand for the plasmas to show video, DVD and PowerPoint. All this had to be controlled by the DfES staff so simplicity of operation was key. A technician was standing by looking after all the areas.

Revelation supplied Eleven02 and DfES with a turnkey solution that was able to deliver a very complicated brief in a very simple operating manner.

Results

Both Eleven02 and The Department for Education and Skills were extremely pleased with the exhibition stand produced by Revelation.
