A word from the editor
Revelation has been extremely busy since the last newsletter, expanding operations in the UK as well as getting the Middle East office up and running. So this would seem the perfect opportunity to welcome all of our new team members...in the UK, we have Melanie Clark who joins us as PA to the Directors and office manager, Beth Greenway as Customer Service Support, Hannah Roberts, Chris Thom, John Ross all as Account Managers and Katie Lewis-Perrins returns to us as part time as Customer Service Support. In the Middle East office we have Ziad A. Ghaloul as Operations Manager, Loujan Mourad as Event Manager & Yoseph A. Higleh as Project Manager. So, a really big welcome to everybody!
With all the new team members we are in the process of getting everyone filmed to go on the website, for more information visit the team profiles page
To advocate Revelation's sustainability practices the marketing department has been busy sending clients our Revelation EcoButton's as a gift, the product is very simple and helps to reduce the amount of energy used by putting a users computer into eco-mode when it is left unattended. We thought it was a very worthwhile and sustainable gift and hope you liked it!
Other things that have been happening... There has been a lot of activity in the Middle East office with Catherine, Matt and Rob all taking trips out to ensure everything is running smoothly, as well as attending Stanley's wedding (must say a big congratulations to him and Ingela!). Matt even had time for a quick desert lighting install! (See picture above).
The usual fun and frolics continue with the sales teams monthly activity last month being soft play at Jump in Bristol and this month it was pottery painting, no doubt there was some competition who could paint the best plate!?
Plus a few members of the Revelation team took part in a charity abseil down a church in Gloucester, so thank you to anyone that sponsored us, everyone got down in one piece, which was a bonus, and the sun even decided to come out!!
Anyway, all that is left to say is roll on Summer!!
Fiona, Editor It's a Revelation!

Kraft Conference
Each year the leading food and drink company, Kraft Foods holds a conference to inform staff about the year's targets and new marketing campaigns. This is the third consecutive year that Revelation has worked alongside the South West based agency Bray Leino as the production company on the event.
The venue for the conference, Cheltenham Town Hall, had some amazing old regency features which our design team had a fantastic time working with. We supplied a full production and management service for the event including the design and implementation of the lighting and sound solutions as well as the stage and set design. Plus with over 20 presenters on the stage in the space of just 2 hours, the flawless management of the speakers, presentations and all the AV equipment was crucial.
The main feature of the stage was a 13m wide seamless projection screen that enabled different sources, such as presentations, live footage, logos etc to be projected at once. The multiple formats were easily dealt with through pre production and liaising with all the video editor facilities involved. We also incorporated a high tech media server that gave the production team complete control over input and output, last minute changes made by the speakers and gave the presenters the confidence to try new and innovative presentation methods.
This technology is now becoming much more widely available and worked particularly well for this size of venue and conference. If you would like more information in using this format in your own event then please contact sales@revelation-events.co.uk

Gastech
The 23rd Gastech Conference & Exhibition was this year held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Thailand and for the sixth year running, Revelation worked in the capacity of conference production and exhibition floor AV management company.
Working with dmg World Media, we also adopted a consultative role when it came to sourcing and appointing local AV contractors, for which the day to day management of those selected were then Revelation’s responsibility both in the lead up to the event and on-site.
As part of our role we were required to supply a venue producer for each of the three conference streams plus technical crew to operate the equipment. We were also responsible for looking after the AV equipment on the exhibition floor which included four delegate refreshment areas consisting of a large 3 x 3 plasma wall (nine 42" screens in total on each plasma wall) and an audio PA. The opening ceremony video and audio was sent down to the exhibition show floor via a fibre optic cable and then split and sent to each plasma wall.
The event was a huge success attracting a record breaking 11,500 visitors, spread across the conference and the exhibition that included more than 5000 registrants and over 250 companies exhibiting. There are talks in place of the plans for the 2009 conference being held back in Abu Dhabi.
"As Gastech grows in stature we need a quality of service which demands the best in the business and at Gastech your company delivered this and more, for which we are very grateful." Event Director, Gastech

Imago Unified Communications
Earlier this month, we worked with Imago at their new exhibition Unified Communications which ran alongside VoIP for Business and looked into the business potential and changing delivery models that Unified Communication has to offer. The two day show incorporated a full programme of seminars, as well as additional master classes by key partners of the event. The Revelation team was responsible for managing the theatres on the exhibition floor; with 4 theatres in total with one contact centre, we provided sound and projection systems for all of them, made sure each presentation was loaded that all the speakers were happy.

Herman Miller's London National Design Centre Office Launch
Background
Since 1923 Herman Miller have been inventing and refining ergonomic work seating and creating great places to work. Today they are the second largest office furniture company with customers and locations around the world.
Their main HQ is based in the renowned sustainable offices of Village Green in Chippenham, however for the first time ever Herman Miller has a street level showroom based in the London National Design Centre (LNDC) where they will display their products to the public.
|
| |
|
Solution
After a long history as event partners, Herman Miller appointed Revelation as event management and Production Company for the launch of their new office space at the LNDC.
The brief for the launch evening was for Revelation to organise and manage a party within the new premises for 500 people, including a number of press contacts who would be there to report on the evening and the building.
The Revelation team organised entertainment in the form of fire breathers to greet the guests and then inside everyone was treated to a DJ and two live musicians who adlibbed and entertained, providing innovative background music.
It was very important to create a real buzz at the launch and to provide a platform from which the new premises could shine and as Revelation were responsible for all the lighting, sound and audio visual requirements at the event they made sure that this was achieved. This included the production of a flash animation which played on plasma monitors around the venue and imaginative lighting of the venue.
The decoration, catering, hostesses and security were also under the management of Revelation. At the end of the evening guests enjoyed a bacon sandwich wrapped in specially designed paper with the blue print of the building on and were given the gift of a branded model red London bus to remind them of the evening.

Results
Staff and guests were thrilled with the success of the launch and a lot of people congratulated the Revelation team in person on the evening, as well as receiving some incredibly positive feedback in writing from two senior directors;
"Thanks to the team for laying on a truly fantastic evening. The launch party confirmed the opening of our new London showroom and served as a celebration and important marketing activity for Herman Miller. I was absolutely delighted with the way the Revelations team dealt with things during the evening. The space looked really good, the drinks were flowing, the music and entertainment was great. I particularly liked the activities outside to welcome people as they arrived. Your team were almost military in their operation and when I walked in the following morning it was hard to tell that we'd had upwards of 600 people through the space just a few hours before."

LED
Previously there have been a lot of Light Emitting Diode (LED) products that have been priced out of the smaller events market and were only used on large scale shows, concerts etc. However with the increased demand for these products and decreasing prices, they are now becoming more readily available for everyday events.
The important thing is nothing is impossible if you have a vision of something you’d like, there is a good chance that we will know how to do it, so give us a call.
Some examples of the products available:
M2 tiles with lots of tiles inside them which can be used for walkways, big chunky graphics, dance floors. Modular LED's that will go underneath things/people and can go round corners. Tubular LED's where the whole tube changes colour at the same time, used in the likes of Big Brother and X-Factor. Plus 3D LED Walls which allow you to pass an image through an object made up of LED walls. Click here to check it out.

Worlds 50 Best Restaurants
Now in its seventh year, this high profile accolade has grown into an eagerly anticipated, internationally influential event, with the awards night drawing interest from the world's media and bringing together many of the world's finest chefs and most creative restaurateurs.
For the third consecutive year, Revelation has worked with Restaurant Magazine and William Reed to produce the awards ceremony. The set which we were responsible for designing and creating worked amazingly well with the stunning and intricate craftsmanship that features in the venue and embraced the importance of the design working with the architecture rather than covering it up. To achieve this large pieces of gauze were hung from the ceiling and were lit to create an incredibly stylish effect.
As well as the event production, the team was also responsible for the live relays played on the screens around the venue and providing technical support to the numerous news crews on flew in from around the world to cover the show.
The event was a resounding success with the guardian newspaper even describing the huge projector screens and special effects as some of the most striking things about the whole event.
